Before opening Brasserie 16 we were a Specialist company, KRT Bar and Catering Services, supplying Catering, Bar Services and Catering Hire. This business was formed in 1986 by Kevin and Anne Townsend. It was in 1970-74 whilst at Exeter Catering College that Anne met Kevin, then Assistant Manager at the "Fishermans Cot Hotel" at Bickleigh near Exeter. Whilst at the "Cot", they honed their trade before moving to Somerset in 1980 to manage a very popular and successful Pub Restaurant for six years. During that time Kevin saw a gap in the market for a Complete Catering Service, and in 1986, KRT was formed. In the intervening years the business has gone from strength to strength. Son Liam joined in 2001 as Bar Manager and his wife Angela in 2007 as Wedding co-ordinator. KRT Bar and Catering services will run alongside Brasserie 16.
I would like to introduce my Family and Staff who will be tending to you during your visit. My wife Anne is Executive Chef our son Liam is Manager, Daughter Jo is Restaurant Supervisor on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday evenings. Niece Kelly is Restaurant Supervisor on Monday, Thursday and Friday Evenings. Daughter-in-Law Angie is Waitress and Supervisor and Nephew Scott is a part time Chef.
Non family members are Steve & Blake who are full time Chefs and Gelf who is another of our part time Chefs. Maria is Trainee Chef and Martina our Kitchen Porter. In the Restaurant George is our Breakfast & Lunchtime Restaurant Supervisor and our Waitressing Staff includes Eszter & Alice. On the bar we have Dave, Stuart and Bar Supervisor Mike.
